When we asked our community what makes Ennis ISD strong, the answer kept coming back to our
people.
Our educators were described again and again as caring, committed, and deeply connected to students.
Pride in this community came through in every survey, focus group, and interview. And families, alumni, and neighbors keep showing up for our kids.
You can see it every day: in a classroom here, a grade level there, a campus that figured something out
and made it work.
Excellence already lives in Ennis. This plan makes it the standard in every classroom, every grade, and
every campus, for every family.

Before we wrote a single word of our new strategic plan, we listened.
We received 352 survey responses in English and Spanish. We held five focus groups with families,
educators, students, community members, and district leaders, interviewed our trustees individually,
and visited six campuses, inside classrooms, on typical school days.
Parents. Teachers. Staff. Neighbors. Partners. Students.
What you told us shaped this plan. Over the next several weeks, we'll share the strategic plan's five
priorities: what we heard, what the data showed, and where we're going together.
Excellence is the Ennis standard. It starts here, with the voices of the people who live it every day.

With significant rainfall expected in our area beginning tomorrow, we encourage everyone to stay weather-aware, use caution on wet roads, and allow extra travel time.
Please be patient in our campus car loops and understand that bus routes may experience delays due to heavy rain, standing water, or changing road conditions.

As part of School Safety Week, we’re sharing an important reminder from the Texas School Safety Center:
Think before you post. Threats to school safety—even when intended as a joke—are a crime and can have serious, life-changing consequences.
Students who make threats could face school discipline, including expulsion, and criminal consequences that may include up to 2 years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000.
Parents, please talk with your students about the serious consequences of making or sharing threats online.
Don’t risk your future over a post. THREATS ARE NO JOKE!

The first day of school is just ONE DAY AWAY!
As we prepare to welcome our students back tomorrow, please remember that traffic around our campuses—especially in drop-off and pick-up lanes—will be heavier than normal during the first week or so.
Bus arrival and drop-off times may also vary slightly as our drivers and students become familiar with new routes and schedules.
The safety and security of our students will always be our top priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding as everyone settles into the new school year routine.

School begins in just 6 days!
As you prepare for the first day, here's a reminder that Ennis ISD has updated the student dress code to provide more flexibility for everyday attire.
Students are no longer limited to logo apparel and now have more options when choosing tops, bottoms, and outerwear.
While students have greater freedom in what they wear, our expectations remain the same. Clothing must be appropriate for school and may not include lewd, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate images or messages.
Please take a moment to review the updated dress code before the first day of school. View the complete guidelines here:
